Digital Printing
In addition to screen printing, we also have the facility to produce digitally printed garments. This allows us to generate designs that are not compatible with screen printing onto garments and also to work with fabrics that are unable to be screen printed.
Your design is printed onto a matt or gloss finish laminate substrate using CMYK inks before being flash heated onto the garment of your choice. Our staff are able to guide you as to whether your design is suitable for this process.
In addition to reproduction on garments, we are able to use our digital printing facilities to provide you with other items including car and window stickers, posters, banners and canvas art. Take a look at our complete section on digital printing for more information on these products.
Set-Up Costs
There is a one off set up charge for this process of £25.00 ex.VAT which covers most standard sizes. Please note that we do not recommend large sized digital prints. This process is more suitable for smaller designs.
Unit Costs
Our pricing is inclusive of one design. If your garment requires more than one digital print or is using a digitally printed design as a second logo, the extra charge is £2.00 ex.VAT per print.
Colours
As digitally printed designs are printed using CMYK inks, the process is known as "full colour” so there is no restriction to the number of colours within your design. This allows you to reproduce designs that contain shading and gradients, not just spot colours and it also allows you to reproduce photographs.
Logo Sizes
In theory, you can digitally print in any size, however, for clothing, we do not recommend that this process is used for large print. Smaller prints applied to the breast or sleeve area of garments are the ideal size for this process. Large designs are more susceptible to "cracking” and fading during the washing process, even if laundered correctly.
